Brewpubs

Integrating a brewery into a pub, restaurant, hotel, casino or resort will substantially increase your visibility and exposure toward the market. It is also a very profitable investment.

Brewpubs are smaller size breweries that are typically in pubs, restaurants, casino’s or resorts. Their goal is twofold:

  • Provide the business with a unique concept, the brewing of fresh beer on premises using brew pub equipment.
  • Increase the beer sales and the margin on these beer sales dramatically by producing fresh quality beer at the fraction of the cost of what a distributor would charge you.

At the location, the brewpub equipment is most of the time placed in a highly visible area, often to be seen both from the outside and the inside of the building. Again it is a great concept and a marketing tool to attract customers to your establishment.

Typically the larger part of the beer production of a brewpub is consumed at the location and, if any, only a small percentage will be bottled. The beers are generally not pasteurized, adding to the flavor and freshness of the beers. Filling bottles for customers to take home is possible, but storage in a fridge and consumption within about 3 weeks is necessary.

Brewpubs often gear their interior design toward the brewing aspect and serve some food that is prepared with beer or served with specific beer styles.

Brewpubs can range in size, depending on the size of your establishment and your yearly beer sales. Typically brewpubs range between 5 and 10hL (=500 to 1000 liters) per brew.

The surface needed to house the equipment in a brewpub varies with your yearly volume but approximately 70 to 100m2 will be needed, some of which can be located in a less visible area.
